Get giggy with it

I've tapped into my connections in each of the Point A Cities for inspiration of the must-see gigs.

Here are some tips for all tastes and even some to deliberately push you out of your comfort zone.

Dublin

Our man on the inside recommended these, just for you:

Mackelmore 3/04/23 > What’s not to love about a rapper that campaigns for gay rights?

Hozier 07/04/23 > Rumour has it the artist has fallen in love and is currently residing in Ireland. We’d tell you more but we’re sworn to secrecy..

Sam Smith 14/04/23 > he’s added a second date to his GLORIA tour due to high demand

Nathan Carter 15/04/23 > Did you know the Irish love country music this is one of their best-loved homegrown artists? The fans go wild, the gig is guaranteed to be a blast.

The Wolfe Tones 16/04/23 > An iconic Irish rebel music band formed in the 60’s. They all have moustaches.

Andre Rieu 22/04/23 > 'The King of the Waltz', Andre plays the violin, and tours with a 60 piece orchestra, who all perform in fabulous gowns. Definitely a vibe.

Edinburgh

In Edinburgh it's the iconic venues that set the tone. Here are the best and what they've got coming up:

The Usher Hall: a beautiful concert hall with a range of performances, including classical, jazz, and popular music.
Hot tips: Tommy Blaize & KT Tunstall.

The Queen's Hall: a historic venue that features a variety of musical acts, including traditional Scottish music, jazz, and contemporary acts.
Hot tips: Les Illuminations, Garth Marenghi, & Tori Amos.

The Liquid Room has been going for ten years and hosts live music and club nights 7 nights a week, 365 days a year.
Hot tips: Indie Thursdays, Eli Brown, & SI Cranstoun.

Sneaky Pete's is an intimate venue full of personality, live music, with a focus on indie and alternative acts.
Hot tips: The Bonnevilles, The Fat Dads, Corella, Billy Sullivan, Rosellas and the Stag and Dagger Festival.

Glasgow

Live music is one of the things Glaswegians live for!

King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut >
A cornerstone of Glasgow's grassroots music scene. The personal size (300 capacity) makes it perfect for pints and memorable nights out. The soundsystem is top drawer.

Nice and Sleazy> A buzzy upstairs bar prepares you for descending into the basement for sweaty, intimate gigs from up and coming bands (see them here first!) and cult regular club nights.

Most Friday and Saturday nights, you can't go wrong. Get a stiff drink and get involved.

SWG3 > A Glasgow warehouse transformed into a playground for the best music and art.

Hot Tips:
The Orbital, Bambii, Peter Doherty, Che Lingo, The Scottish House and Disco Festival.

The Sub Club > Mecca for the biggest names in the clubbing game, this club was created by those who love intimate nights out where the crowd is cool but friendly.

Hot tips: Long running residencies like Subculture and Sensu host big name guests, one-offs are also top notch such as Eclair Fifi Easter weekend.

London

It's hard to know where to start in London... here are some of the sure fire winners.

Point A Kings Cross

Coco in Camden has recently had a makeover and is now back better and more beautiful than ever. Epic live gigs and club nights are now spread across the cafe space, nightclub, and members areas. Anyone can become a member.. if you're in London a lot, might just be worth it.

Spiritland is for music afficionados. There is a cafe, bar and radio studio. The venue is known for its Living Voice soundsystem. Top of the range quality and made in England.

Point A Shoreditch

The Village Underground prides itself on programming the next generation of talent. From gigs, club nights, theatre, live art and more - trust their taste. This is pure East London energy.

The Old Blue Last is an East End boozer with live music that begs you to lose yourself. They also claim to be haunted by the ghost of Shakespeare?

Point A Paddington

Ronnie Scotts is one of the oldest jazz clubs in the world. Every great you could possibly name has graced their stage since they opened in 1959.

Ain't Nuthin' But is another one of London's great jazz bars, showcasing live music nightly - and jam sessions on Sunday and Monday. You never know who might turn up for a guest slot..
