Edinburgh isn’t so much a city, more a way of life. I doubt I’ll ever tire of exploring it, on foot or in print.

Historical Edinburgh

Adventure awaits you in the historical capital of Scotland. Packed with medieval architecture, Edinburgh will captivate visitors through its historical sites, from Edinburgh castle, the renowned Edinburgh university, Old Town and much more.

Throughout the year, the city also bursts to life as the world’s leading festival city. The famous Fringe festival provides endless entertainment through thousands of performers, theatre, comedy, dance, opera, music and more. With others like the science festival, international storytelling festival, art festival and jazz festival, there is no shortage of events for everyone to enjoy.

Our location also allows convenient access to the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, a minute’s walk away. The nearby Haymarket also offers much more than being a major transport hub, the cobble-stoned town provides authentic Scottish dining, pubs and is home to Scottish rugby with its impressive BT Murrayfield Stadium.

Start Discovering

Stunning architecture, natural beauty and an illustrious festival scene, can Scotland's colourful capital Edinburgh get any better? It sure can, with our very own Point A Hotel right in the city centre it's a like a cherry on top for any trip to Edinburgh.

Shopping and Markets
With our hotel located on a bustling road lined with shops, you don't have to look too far for some retail therapy. Just a short walk from our hotel, we recommend visiting Prince's and George Streets which are home to luxury brands and everyday stores alike. There are plenty of shopping centres too, check out Waverly Mall, Ocean Terminal and Multrees Walk. For the best of everything local, head over to Stockbridge market, Edinburgh Farmer's Market, Pitt Market and Greater Grassmarket.

Tourist Attractions
• Edinburgh's best sightseeing spots are all a short walk, cycle, bus or tram ride from our hotel. If you don't mind a walk check out the famous Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street Gardens. Travel a little further on wheels and you'll discover the historic Palace of Holyroodhouse, St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh Old town and the Real Mary King's Close.
• Want to catch a bird's eye view of Edinburgh, we recommend visiting Arthur's Seat. This extinct volcano may take a little while to reach using public transport but it's definitely a must on any visit to Edinburgh.
• If you're an art and culture lover, then a visit to the National Museum of Scotland and the National Gallery of Scotland are both excellent options awaken your creative side.
• The Royal Yacht Britannia is also a popular site, once used to welcome heads of state and famous people, this royal yacht is the centerpiece of the Britannia Visitor Centre. A bit off the beaten track but worth the visit for royal fans.
• Don't have time to go on a whisky tour of Scotland? The Scotch Whisky Experience is the place to go for in-house whisky tours and tastings, as well as a whisky school. Best of all, it's only a 15 minute walk from our hotel.

Eat & Drink
Just a 5 minute walk from our hotel, Wildwood restaurant is the perfect place if you are after a delicious, hearty meal. With plenty of options including Italian, European, Vegetarian and Vegan, you'll be spoilt for choice. Also within 5 minutes walking is the cosy Nepalese restaurant called The Khukuri. Enjoy authentic Nepalese cuisine with good portions at reasonable prices.

Think Edinburgh is just about whisky? Think again. The Edinburgh Gin Distillery celebrates Edinburgh's historic gin heritage with an equisite cocktail list, including the rhubarb and ginger gin with yuzu tonic. If you love gin, then we also recommend visiting the Jolly Botanist. With Victorian styled interiors and chilled out vibes, this local favourite is sure to impress.

GREAT VALUE AND LOCATION

Was pleasantly surprised by this recently opened hotel, it is marketed as budget but feels pretty boutique with very modern, well-thought out rooms. Located near the city centre with easy access to local transport. Staff we very friendly and helpful during the stay, in particular Alex as she gave great tips and recommendations on the local area and city. Would definitely recommend this hotel and if i am ever back in the city, this would be my go-to place.
