Ethical Purchasing Policy
At Point A Hotels, we aim to source goods and services in ways that are ethical, sustainable, and socially responsible. This policy serves as a guiding framework for our procurement decisions across all areas, including food & beverage, furniture, fixtures, equipment, marketing materials, and operational supplies.
We encourage our suppliers to share our commitment to sustainability and fairness, and we seek to build partnerships that reflect these values.
1. Minimising Environmental Impact
We aim to reduce the environmental impact of the products and services we procure by:
-
Preferring durable, recycled, or reusable products
-
Encouraging the use of renewable energy in production and operations
-
Minimising packaging and operational waste
Where relevant, certifications such as B Corporation, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), MCS, FSC, or Rainforest Alliance are welcomed but not mandatory.
2. Supporting Human Rights, Fair Working Conditions and Animal Welfare
We seek to work with suppliers who:
-
Offer fair pay and safe, healthy working conditions
-
Avoid modern slavery and human trafficking
-
Promote equality and prevent discrimination
Certifications such as Living Wage or Fair Trade are encouraged, but we recognise that suppliers may be at different stages of implementing these standards.
3. Supporting Local Economy and Resilient Supply Chains
We value working with local suppliers and small businesses where possible, helping to strengthen communities and create a more resilient supply chain.
4. Transparency, Integrity & Legal Compliance
We expect our suppliers to comply with all relevant laws, including the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, and to operate with transparency and integrity.
Implementation & Review
This policy will be shared with all current and new suppliers by 1 December 2025 and reviewed annually to ensure it remains aligned with evolving sustainability standards and best practices.
Monitoring & Reporting
We encourage open dialogue with our suppliers and will monitor progress through periodic reviews and feedback. Our aim is to work collaboratively to improve practices rather than impose rigid requirements.
